Retail & Shopping Centers
Retail spaces challenge HVAC design because demand can swing dramatically between low-traffic weekdays and packed weekends. In coastal Connecticut and New York, humidity, glass frontage, and frequent door traffic add even more complexity, which is why our designs emphasize zoning flexibility, dehumidification, and demand-controlled ventilation to keep spaces comfortable and costs under control.

Healthcare Facilities & Laboratories
Healthcare spaces come with the highest stakes. Infection control depends on proper air changes, pressure relationships between rooms, and filtration that meets code every single day. Schools rarely have the luxury of new construction; most projects involve additions or retrofits onto older facilities. These are big, raw spaces that tax mechanical systems differently than offices or retail. High ceilings, large doors left open for loading, and equipment that generates its own heat mean the airflow strategy has to be industrial in scale. We’ve designed systems where the challenge wasn’t just temperature control but also air quality, keeping particulate matter down so employees could work safely.

Mixed-Use & Adaptive Reuse Properties
The region is full of older mills, factories, and commercial buildings now being reimagined as mixed-use spaces. No two are alike. One floor might house retail, another apartments, another offices. The HVAC has to support each without one use overwhelming the others. Government & Municipal Buildings
Town halls, courthouses, and other public facilities bring their own set of requirements. Many operate in older buildings that weren’t built for modern HVAC, while still needing to meet strict code, security, and public safety standards.
